Don’t let Martin cut the CBC again!
Our new Prime Minister seems more concerned with American relations than Canadian culture. As he prepares his first budget, we have to tell him how strongly we feel about the CBC and Canadian programming. Our TV screens are inundated with American programs. It’s time to take back our airwaves – to rebalance our broadcasting system to better reflect our country.
It can be done!
The House of Commons Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage has recommended increased government support for both the Canadian Television Fund and the CBC. It called the CBC our “last line of defence in a media system increasingly dominated by American programming and American values.”
Send Paul Martin a message!
We have to make sure the government implements that report and provides more funding for the CBC and Canadian programming.
