Trade Over Common Sense

Showing that to some Canadians money matters more than common sense, Peter Boag of the Aerospace Industries Association says about missile defence, “How Canada is perceived in the U.S. and how our foreign policies allign with those of the U.S. do have an impact on our trade relationship and on the market access for Canadian firms in the U.S.”
Self-serving doesn’t sum that quote up. Boag like many Canadians among the minority for missile defence would rather put trade before common sense. They would rather you ignore reality and focus on more consumerism and profit for the already rich.
Trade will always go on between our nations. That is fact. We heard the same dire warnings over not going to Iraq. And guess what? Trade didn’t suffer one little bit, but trade will most certainly suffer when the world is destroyed by the continued build up of nuclear weapons.
Expect more of the same as George Bush is in town, and as talks within Canada continue on the missile defence scheme.
